Maintenance and renovation: a strategic issue for SNIM

SNIM's train are towed by 2 or 4 electric diesel General Motors locomotives model SDL 40 and SDL 70 of 3,300 and 4,500 h.p.

These trains can reach up to 2.5 km length with 200 hopper wagons of 80 tons capacity, making these some of the longest and heaviest trains in the world.

Traffic represents more than 16 billion tons yearly and is carried by 6 trains. That is why FRANCARE as gathered a variety of competencies in order to establish:

• A technical audit of the locomotives
• Supply of Lifting columns equipped with 4 actuators of 50 tons capacity
